Acceptance
By downloading or using Murmur, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.
License
Murmur is distributed under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software, subject to the conditions in the MIT License.
The Software
Murmur is a voice dictation application for macOS that performs speech recognition locally on your device. The software is provided free of charge.
No Warranty
The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. In no event shall the authors be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the software.
System Permissions
Murmur requires Accessibility and Microphone permissions to function. You grant these permissions through macOS System Settings. You may revoke them at any time, which will disable the corresponding features.
Third-Party Services
If you configure an LLM endpoint for text polishing, your transcribed text will be sent to that third-party service. You are responsible for reviewing and accepting the terms and privacy policies of any third-party service you connect.
Speech Recognition Model
Murmur uses the SenseVoice model (via sherpa-onnx) for offline speech recognition. This model is subject to its own license terms. Murmur does not modify the model.
Updates
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Murmur after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
